The game that launched one of gaming’s most enduring franchises. Released by Konami in 1986, Castlevania put players in the boots of Simon Belmont, armed with the legendary Vampire Killer whip, on a quest through Dracula’s castle.
The game’s gothic atmosphere, punishing difficulty, and incredible soundtrack—featuring tracks like Vampire Killer and Wicked Child—made it an instant classic. It spawned dozens of sequels across every platform, but the NES original remains the most iconic.
Well-represented across all three Dutch secondhand platforms, with strong listings on Vinted, Marktplaats, and eBay. Loose cartridges are common; complete-in-box copies command significantly higher prices. One of the most collectible NES titles.
