FUBU (Vintage)
About this item
FUBU — "For Us, By Us" — was the streetwear brand that defined late-90s hip-hop fashion. Founded in 1992 in Queens, New York, the brand became a global phenomenon worn by LL Cool J, the Wu-Tang Clan, and every kid who wanted to look like them. Vintage FUBU pieces from the 1996-2002 peak era are now firmly in the collectible category.
Jerseys, oversized denim, and logo-heavy pieces command the highest prices. The Platinum FUBU line and any collaborative or limited pieces are the rarest finds. Most items on the European secondhand market are standard logo tees and polos, which are accessible entry points. Size matters — XXL and larger sizes that were popular in the era are more authentic and more sought-after.
Check labels carefully for authenticity — FUBU was heavily bootlegged in its heyday. Original tags have specific stitching patterns and label formatting. Condition is measured differently for vintage streetwear: minor wear is acceptable, but stains, holes, and cracked prints kill the value. Pieces with intact original tags (deadstock) are the premium tier.
