Pokémon Colosseum (GameCube)

2000–2004

About this item

Pokemon Colosseum on the GameCube (2004) was a bold departure from the mainline formula — a fully 3D Pokemon RPG set in the desert region of Orre, where you steal Shadow Pokemon from villains instead of catching wild ones. It felt darker and more mature than the handheld games, and for many fans it's still the best console Pokemon experience ever made.

Collector demand has been climbing steadily as GameCube games across the board have appreciated. Pokemon Colosseum benefits from being both a Pokemon title and a quality RPG in its own right. The bonus disc variant (which included a Jirachi distribution) is especially sought after. PAL versions tend to be less common than NTSC copies.

Check that the disc reads without issues — GameCube discs are small and scratch easily, and a bad disc surface can cause freezing during gameplay. Make sure the manual is present and not water-damaged. For complete copies, the condition of the DVD-style case matters — cracked hinge teeth are common on GameCube cases. If you find the bonus disc bundled together with the main game, that's an excellent pickup.
