Silent Hill (PS1)

Silent Hill on the original PlayStation (1999) is the game that proved survival horror didn't need jump scares to be terrifying. Konami's foggy nightmare of a town used atmosphere, sound design, and psychological dread to create an experience that still unsettles people decades later. It launched an entire franchise and remains one of the most influential horror games ever made.

This is a top-tier PS1 collectible. Silent Hill has always been desirable, but renewed interest from remakes and the broader horror gaming revival has pushed prices higher. Black label complete copies are the standard collector target, while sealed copies are genuinely rare. The game's reputation only grows with time.

For disc condition, check the playing surface carefully — PS1 discs were not built to last, and a scratched disc can crash during the notoriously data-heavy fog rendering. Make sure you're getting a black label version if that's what you want, not a Greatest Hits reprint. The manual and case should be intact with no water damage. PAL copies sometimes have different cover art, so verify the version before buying.
