LEGO 6276 Eldorado Fortress — Pirate Set

LEGO 6276 Eldorado Fortress is the iconic 1989 pirate fort — the natural counterpart to the Black Seas Barracuda. For a generation of Dutch kids, you either got the ship or the fort for Sinterklaas. Many got both over the years, making this one of the most fondly remembered LEGO sets of the late 80s.

The set features a full island fortress with movable walls, a hidden treasure room, cannons, and a dock. It came with six minifigures including soldiers and pirates. Complete sets with all flags, cannons, and the baseplate are what collectors hunt for — the small accessories are often the first things to go missing.

When buying, check for the baseplate (expensive to replace separately), all flags and flag poles, and the cannon assemblies. Yellowed white bricks are common but less of an issue than with Technic sets. The original box adds significant value but is rarely found in good condition.
