LEGO 6399 Airport Shuttle Monorail — Town Set

LEGO 6399 Airport Shuttle is the 1990 motorised monorail set from the Town theme — and one of the most coveted LEGO sets of the early 90s. The massive box alone was enough to make any Dutch kid's Sinterklaas unforgettable. It features a battery-powered monorail that actually runs on an elevated track, connecting an airport terminal to a runway.

As one of only a few LEGO monorail sets ever made, it sits in rare company alongside the 6990 Space Monorail. Collectors value it for the working motor, the unique track pieces, and the sheer ambition of the design. Complete sets with working motor and all track sections are increasingly hard to find.

When buying, test the motor if possible — replacement motors are scarce. Check for all track pieces (the curved sections especially), the terminal building, and the monorail car. The battery box and electrical contacts should be clean and corrosion-free. Original box and instructions add major value.
