About this item

Levensweg is worth more than most people expect for a common board game, and which edition you have decides it — the older MB boxes trade well above the modern reprints. Levensweg is the Dutch edition of Milton Bradley's The Game of Life, the classic board game where players spin the wheel and navigate through life's milestones — career, marriage, kids, retirement. The Dutch version, released from the mid-'80s onward, features the iconic 3D plastic board with its hills, bridges, and the spinner in the centre. It's one of those games that lived in nearly every Dutch family's game cupboard.

The vintage MB edition of Levensweg — particularly the '80s and early '90s versions — is a solid nostalgia collectible in the Netherlands. The chunky plastic car game pieces, the salary cards in guilders, and the Dutch-language career and event cards make it a distinctly local version of a global classic. It's the kind of game that gets pulled out at family gatherings and instantly transports everyone back to childhood Sunday afternoons.

Completeness is the main concern: count the car pieces, tiny pink and blue people pegs, salary cards, insurance policies, money, and the spinner. The 3D board should sit flat without warped or broken plastic bridges. Missing pegs are the most common issue — those tiny people love to escape. Check that the spinner still clicks properly and points to clear numbers. A complete Levensweg in a clean, unfaded box with the guilder-era money cards is the version that hits hardest for Dutch collectors of a certain age.
