About this item

Thunderdome I — F*ck Mellow, This Is Hardcore From Hell is the compilation CD that started it all. Released in 1993 by ID&T and Arcade Records, this double CD captured the raw, uncompromising sound of the first Thunderdome event and effectively introduced gabber hardcore to the wider world. With tracks from early pioneers and a no-holds-barred attitude baked right into the title, it set the tone for what would become the biggest hardcore brand on the planet.

As the very first release in the Thunderdome compilation series — which would eventually span dozens of editions — this is the genesis record for collectors. The original 1993 pressing is the one everyone wants. It's not just a compilation; it's a cultural document of the moment Dutch hardcore went from underground to unstoppable. The series became a massive commercial success, but this first volume retains a raw energy that later, more polished editions lack.

When buying, verify you're getting an original 1993 pressing — check the catalogue number and label details against Discogs. The jewel case should be intact without cracks, and the booklet/inlay should be complete and unfaded. Test both discs for scratches and check the printed side for label rot on early pressings. Later reissues and compilations exist, so inspect carefully. An original pressing in excellent condition with its complete inlay and uncracked case is the starting point for any serious gabber collection.
