About this item

Thunderdome XIV - Death Becomes You is the fourth Thunderdome volume released in 1996, a year that saw the series at its most prolific output. By this point ID&T had the production pipeline running like clockwork — licensing tracks, assembling mixes, and shipping double CDs to a continent-wide audience of hardcore fans. The title and artwork continue the series' fascination with morbid theatrics, a visual language that was inseparable from the gabber identity.

From a collecting perspective, the sheer volume of 1996 releases works both for and against value. Print runs were substantial, meaning copies exist — but three decades of wear, loss, and indifference have thinned the supply of well-preserved examples considerably. XIV does not have the landmark status of the earliest editions, but it fills a critical slot in any complete Thunderdome collection.

Inspect the disc surfaces under direct light, rotating slowly to catch micro-scratches that photographs tend to hide. Double-CD jewel cases from this era are fragile; cracked trays and broken hinges are common and detract from presentation. Verify the booklet is original and uncut. If buying online, ask the seller for close-up photos of both disc surfaces before committing.
