Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene (Vinyl LP)

A cornerstone of electronic music. Released in 1976, Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre brought synthesizer music to the mainstream, selling over 18 million copies worldwide. The album’s six continuous parts create a lush, atmospheric journey that still sounds futuristic nearly 50 years later.

The iconic Michel Granger cover art—a cracked Earth skull against a blue sky—is instantly recognizable. Jarre recorded the entire album in a home studio using analogue synthesizers including the VCS3, ARP 2600, and Eminent 310.

Enormously popular in the Netherlands and across Europe, Oxygène is one of the most frequently listed synth LPs on the European secondhand market. Original French Disques Dreyfus pressings are the most collectible, though copies from every era circulate widely.
