About this item
The Leitz Prado is the slide projector Ernst Leitz Wetzlar — the Leica company — built through the 1950s and 60s, and it turned up anywhere slides were shown: schools, camera clubs, lecture halls and living rooms. The line runs from the compact Prado 150 up through the 250 and 500, plus the Prado Universal and the medium-format Prado 66 for 6x6 slides, most of them paired with a Hektor or Colorplan lens.
Built the way Leitz built everything, which is why so many still project. Working units start around €15–30 and the line median sits near €70, with complete Universal outfits reaching €350. Watch what you are actually buying — the parts market is deep and cheap, so a sub-€15 listing is usually a drive belt, a lamp or a slide magazine rather than a projector, and the microscope attachments Leitz made for the Prado trade separately at far higher prices. Check the lens is present and named. Priced daily across Vinted, Marktplaats, eBay, 2dehands and Kleinanzeigen.
