Shining Force III (1998) is Camelot's tactical RPG and one of the last major Saturn releases in Europe. Japan received three linked scenarios telling the same war from different sides; Europe only ever got Scenario 1, which is the version this index tracks.

That truncation is exactly why the PAL release is scarce and expensive. It arrived as the Saturn was already dead in Europe, print runs were tiny, and it has since become one of the format's most sought-after games — routinely several hundred euro for a complete copy.

When buying, confirm you are looking at the PAL Scenario 1 release rather than a Japanese Scenario 2 or 3, which are common, cheaper and not playable in English. Check that the manual and both inner artwork pieces are present, since completeness drives most of the price at this level. Japanese imports typically sell around 30% below PAL copies — the Saturn was a hit in Japan and a commercial failure in Europe, so PAL print runs were small and the scarcity is regional rather than absolute. Listings frequently do not state a region, so check the photo for the spine and box art before comparing prices.
