The Sony Multiscan is the Trinitron line Sony built for computers rather than television — the 100SX, 200ES and 210ES, the E-series, and the CPD-badged models that sat on graphics workstations through the late 1990s. Same aperture-grille tube that made Trinitron a household name, pointed at a VGA cable instead of an aerial.
They are wanted again for the reason CRTs generally are: no input lag, real black, and refresh rates a flat panel of the era could not touch. Working units run €150–350 with the median around €290, and condition of the tube does most of the work in that spread. Check the geometry and the corners before anything else — a faded or bowed picture is the failure these develop, and it is not something a service menu fixes. Weight and shipping are the practical obstacle; most change hands locally. Priced daily across Vinted, Marktplaats, eBay, 2dehands and Kleinanzeigen.
