The 7th Guest (1994) is the Philips CD-i conversion of Trilobyte's haunted-house puzzle game — the title that convinced a generation that CD-ROM was worth owning, ported to a format built around exactly that promise.
The CD-i version is a two-disc release and is considerably scarcer in Europe than the PC original, which sold in enormous numbers. That difference matters when buying: a listing showing a big-box PC edition is a different and much cheaper product, and the two are easy to confuse in search results.
When buying, confirm both discs are present — single-disc listings are common and incomplete. Check the case hinges and whether the manual survives, and be aware the game also appeared on DOS, Mac, 3DO and Saturn. This index tracks the CD-i release only.
